SAINT PATRICK'S DAY
Last Wednesday, it was Saint Patrick's Day. St Patrick's Day is the annual celebration of the patron saint of Ireland, St Patrick. At Los Olivos, we heard about the history behind this day, since we believe learning about the culture of English Speaking countries is as important as learning the English language.
In some classrooms we viewed this short video, which was very interesting and pinpoints all the main facts about this day.
Afterwards, we carried out different activities in each grade. For instance, in 1st Grade we completed a four-leaf clover in which, by drawing and writing, we showed what we were lucky for. In 2nd Grade, we completed three clovers describing out leprechaun, using "can", "is" and "has". In 3rd Grade we learnt a lot of vocabulary related to St Patrick's Day and we also coloured the worksheet.
